Returns and Claims

Damaged books: If you receive damaged books, retain the carton(s), the books, and all packing materials. Call shipping company (UPS, FedEx) immediately for pickup. Claims must be made within 15 days of delivery.

The shipping company, not the publisher, is responsible for books received damaged: Do not accept damaged books or return them to the publisher.

Defective books or shortages: Call publisher at 888-319-5866 for return instructions and prompt replacement. All claims must be made within 15 days of invoice.

Overstock returns: Strata will gladly accept overstock returns for full credit under the following conditions:

  • You purchased the books directly from the publisher and accompany your return request with the original invoice (or copy).

  • Books are returned within 12 months of invoice date.

  • The title and edition are still in print. Out-of-print books must be returned within 6 months of invoice date.

  • Books are received in good condition, resalable by the publisher as new, and are not marked, damaged, or worn in any way.

  • Price stickered or stamped books are considered damaged and will not be accepted for return.

  • Original shrinkwrapping is intact and unbroken.

Return authorization is required.

Shipping instructions and shipping label are included with return authorization.

Please be sure to use the address on the shipping label: Books shipped to any other address will not be accepted or credited.

Books must be packed and shipped according to instructions included with authorization.

Using credits / refunds:

Credit memos will be accepted for three years from the issuing date. Credits not redeemed within that period may be cancelled by the publisher.

Credits for purchases by check may be refunded upon receipt of written request.

Credits for purchases by credit card will be refunded when the credit memo is issued.
